THANKSGIVING!

Here I am, at the end of February, trying to play catch-up with my blogging efforts. I'm posting everything as close to it's original date as possible (I don't want events out of order!), putting in a ton of pictures, & not spending a lot of time writing captions. Sorry there's no explanation, but maybe you will like it better that way! :o) Happy reading!
Here's our Thanksgiving--we had lots of family over at our home--It wasn't all of the Sherwood clan, but quite a nice gathering! We don't get to come together all that often, living all over the country, so this was a very nice holiday!

Time for a Turkey-bowl with the Kids.... & the little kids, too. :o)

In the huddle...

These videos show all the fun!

************
It's Snack-Time before we eat the big meal. :oD Turkey's still in the oven...we're starved...we eat!!!

Of course, we need cheese-ball, shrimp, fruit & dip, & veggies & dip. Anything less would be less. Anything more would be welcome. :o)

Kenzie loved listening to the guitar as David played.
I'd have to say she's got her ear to the best spot!
THE FEAST!!!

Adult table:Kid table:
Baby table!
Mark, Sharolyn & their whole crew came for an evening visit! What a great surprise! We were all excited to see them! (Mom was in tears when it was time to leave!)

Chatting about memories...
Mary, Emilee, & Joy.
We should have all faced the same way (& I shouldn't have looked so exhausted!) so you can tell how much we look a-like!

Mom & Dad with 4 of their kids (& two grandkids)

Grandma & Grandpa with as many grandkids as we could get! Some were sleeping, some were crying, some were hiding.... still a one-in-a-million picture! Someday we'll get everyone together. ;o)
It turned out to be quite the fun day! Taylor even survived with a grin still on her face!
Thanks for all the help, Mom & Mary! We all had fun together!

Remember Wax Lips?

I do!

I remember going to the Super C store in "downtown" Kuna to buy cheap candy. Wax lips were a novelty I indulged in only a few times. They were not so nice to "eat" as other treats, but I still have fun memories of wearing them!
I saw wax lips at Macey's & had to buy some for the kids...childhood is not perfect until you've had your chance to wear wax lips!!! Here's some pictures of the fun the kids had....

Addie was stunning in red!...She looks quite stunned herself!!!

You can almost see Kelli's smile coming out from behind those humongous lips!
Mikey needed Fangs, of course! No self-respecting 8 yr-old would have anything else!

Grandma's loving the kisses....Mikey thinks kisses are gross. (Note, the "thumbs down" in the background)

Grandpa's loving the kisses, too....Mikey still thinks kisses are gross. (...the thumb!...)

Say cheese! (Well, say it to yourself at least... If you say it out loud, you'll loose the lips!)
Anyone else thinking of Larry the Cucumber singing, "Love My Lips"--I've got it running through my head!

Ambree was surprised with kisses.

Kisses for Uncle Drew, too! Anyone getting all kissed out?

Maybe not...I think we finally wore Mikey out. Maybe kisses aren't all that bad!
Well, Maybe they still are. Keep away from girls, Mikey!!!

Mikey's First Pinewood Derby

Believe it or not, Mikey actually did most of the work on this beauty! He picked out the shape he wanted, Mark cut it out (I am NOT letting an 8 year old even NEAR a power saw!), Mikey sanded it down, painted it, (I helped with the flames) & tapped in the wheels. The most work I did was to get after him about finishing the project on time! Good job, Mikey!

Here's the weighing table...Mikey gets to have his car weighed & numbered for the Derby. Mark's checking to make sure Mikey's got the most weight he can possibly get on that little car! (Hence, the pennies taped to the top!)

It's a proud moment for a father!

Mikey gets his position as lucky #13!

Before the races begin, we had the awards & opening ceremony for pack meeting. Mikey had earned his wolf! Yipee!
We were all quite pleased with him!
Now it's time to start the racing fun! Addie was quite excited!

So was Taylor! Kelli was so excited, she couldn't stay in one place long enough to get her picture taken!

But no one was more excited than Mikey!

Bro. Young, lining up the racers... He's holding Mikey's car with his right.

Please, oh please, oh please!!!

Yea!!! That race was a first place for Mikey!!!

Each scout got a sticker on his racer to show what place he got with each heat.

Here's the award Mikey got at the end of the evening. "Best Hot Rod" I agree. :o)

Congrats, Mikey. Thanks for the fun memories!!!

Taylor Spit- Up

Ok, Spit-Up is an UNDERSTATEMENT! We made it through, though. I was even smiling! (A little, anyway!)
*** Due to a few complaints (by Mark) & a helpful suggestion by Grandma Harker, the following video is rated GGSU, for Graphically Gruesome Spit Up. Viewer Discretion is advised. :o) ***
This is more for me than for you anyway. :o)
I did a lot of scrubbing that day! It luckily barely missed the carpet in her bedroom, although I had to wipe down the WALLS in the hallway, change my jeans, & give her a SECOND bath so she wouldn't stink of spit-up! Oh well!

She is STILL soooo worth it! :o)

Taylor's 2nd Tooth! (Halloween & Snow, too)

WOW! This first year is racing by! In another couple of days, Taylor will be 7 months old!

I finally got a semi-decent picture of Taylor's 1st tooth (see above photo--it's on her right, your left, on the bottom--see that little white thing?), & will post one of her 2nd tooth as soon as it becomes a bit more visible. :o) Maybe by then it will be easier for you to see her first tooth! Ha!

Here's a clip of her first tooth--you might have better luck seeing her tooth when she's in motion.

Messy little face! :o) Taylor's getting better at getting around. She scooched herself on down the hallway, chasing after me when I left the front room. She made it all the way from her quilt next to the couch, down the hall to her room & was quite giggly about it. :o) Cute little girl!

Along with exploring the hallway has come Taylor's new favorite toy....

As an afterthought... here's our few Halloween pictures. SuperMom failed. The camera was in the purse, not in the hand. :o) Oh well. At least we had many pictures on other costumed occasions. I actually made it to the Costume Parade for Mikey & Kelli at the school that morning--even had Addie all dressed up. Here's Addie with Grandma Harker, who's all dressed up, too.But not Taylor!Taylor never quite made it into her costume that day. It was a busy day....dressing up a baby just wasn't important any more. (She had already dressed up 2 other times--it was quite an art getting her bunny nose & whiskers on, so I figured we were "good").

Kelli enjoyed posing for this very tasty spinach salad--it was cleverly disguised as a pumpkin face, but for some reason, the kids knew it was still a spinach salad under all that cheese....Cute girl.Sorry Kelli.... should I not have said, "Cute?" :o)Kelli, Addie, & Mikey helped out with carving pumpkins...They only got as far as the pumpkin guts, and that was enough. :o) Here's the finished Jack-o-lanterns!This guy is supposed to be a ghost saying, "Boo"--those are supposed to be hands on either side of its face.
We also had a wonderful snow storm this last week...it felt so good to see so much clean snow! Oh, I hope it's another snowy winter! Here's Addie having fun in the backyard:
Snow Angels.
Should I have just put on some shoes? :o)
So much fun...

She played out there a lot longer by herself that she would have with Mikey or Kelli. Sadly, the snow melted by the next day, & the other kids never got to play in it like she did. Here's a prayer for more snow!
