We've had a visit from the Tooth Fairy!

Well, Kelli's finally lost it. I always knew she would! :o) Here's a video clip of her on Sunday morning before church. It was sooooo ready to come out, but she was a bit nervous about the whole thing. Understandable...it being her first & all. :o) Watch the video & you'll see what I mean. Sorry it's sideways--I was just experimenting--didn't think I would catch a moment that I wouldn't want to erase!

I couldn't stop laughing at her little reaction...I played this over & over & just about cried! She did ask Mark to pull on her tooth after this video was taken. (Brave girl!) He pulled gently, but it didn't come. I thought for sure it was about to fall out on it's own, so Kelli stayed prepared by keeping her 'tooth pillow' in her scripture case. Mark must have loosened something, because once we got to church (at choir practice before Sacrament Meeting), Grandma Harker took a light grip on it, and voila! Kelli was beaming! Her first tooth!

Way to go, Kelli!

Mark & I have been working on our vegetable garden, and had some help from Mark's Dad, Martin, with the rototiller--THANKS! I think we have almost all of it in. We just have seeds for Marigolds to go all around (great bug protection), and the green onions left to plant. We also have one more row of corn to plant--just waiting for a week or so, with the hope that we can extend out harvest. :o) The plants you see (or can't quite see) are from peat pots--the rest is in seed, so nothing else green for now. I'll share more pics as the flowers begin blooming & the garden looks nice. :o) That big green bushy-bit are the thornless blackberries Dad gave us--I think we are going to have a ton of berries this year! Plenty of buds are already showing up--just no blossoms yet. Sorry--I should have taken a better picture!

These pictures are for my Mom--but you are all welcome to enjoy & read. :o) This is what my 'surprise' iris looks like. I've had yellow, purple, deep dark purple, & light purple blooms on my iris', but it wasn't until I broke them up a bit and transplanted some to the front of the house that this variety showed up. I know that color of iris wasn't planted before, because I talked to the woman that gave the iris roots to the previous owner of this house, & there were only two colors--the purple & yellow ones. I wonder if they made their own hybrid or something. Anyone know?

That burgandy color is quite pretty. At least I think so! You can see some of the light purples that came from the house in Kuna just behind the burgandy ones. The onion flowers are a bit more obvious--I'm pleased they actually bloomed well this year.

Mikey had fun working on a special book report project--His book was Geronimo Stilton --The Mummy with No Name. It's about a detective mouse, for those of you who don't have any experience with Geronimo. :o) That's why this pyramid board game has numbered wedges of 'cheese' for game pieces & cheese growing on the palm trees. He had fun working on this. I helped to outline the palm trees & cheese pieces, but he did everything else.

Way to go, Mikey!!!

This next video is of Taylor smiling a bit--it was easier to catch in motion than it was to snap a still shot.

She's getting so cute! Oh!--I know why she's getting more smiley each day.... I was pleasantly surprised to wake up on Monday morning at about 6am, when I hadn't heard from her since about ten the night before! She's done that every night since! Wouldn't you be more smiley if you had a good night's rest? Here's another: enjoy the Wizard of Oz music in the background--Kelli, Addie, Taylor, & I were having a girls night while Mikey & Mark went to the ReAL game--tickets compliments of Mikey's Soccer league.

It's so nice to finally be one of those moms with a good sleeper so early on! (Knock on wood) We'll see if it lasts. Funny--I'm still feeling like I haven't caught up on my sleep. :o) She's not always happy though--she does have the cutest little bottom lip that a Grandpa Harker would ever want to dance on! :o) (If a kid ever pouts about something, he/she gets teased that Grandpa Harker is going to come dance on that bottom lip--it's something that's gone on for a while--not sure where it started, so there you go.) This is not the best bottom lip we've seen on Taylor, but it gives you the basic idea.

Another bit of excitement this week is that Mark won on the radio. I don't know if he enjoys the prizes more, or the thrill of just winning. :o) Mark won things on the radio just about once a month when we lived in Denver. He hasn't done it nearly as much here in Utah. This time he got tickets to the ReAL Salt Lake game (soccer), tickets to "the Widowmaker Hillclimb" by Morgan Valley Polaris (whatever that event is), and a few gift certificates: one to Skybox (similar to the ESPN Zone sports grill), one for T.G.I.Friday's, & one for a flower shop--so you can guess what he's bringing home for me! Way to go, Mark!

Anyway...that's what we've been up to lately. Have a great weekend everyone!

Joy
